“Building Women” magazine

I had the opportunity to write an advertorial for NAHB’s “Building Women” magazine that highlighted the growing impact of women in the construction industry.
I told the story of Katie Kath, a powerhouse interior designer and partner at Jkath Design Build + Reinvent, who’s not only thriving in the field but proving that women bring skills – like next-level project management and creative problem-solving – that the industry needs more of.
With women making up just over 11% of the construction workforce, there’s so much room for change – and I loved getting to write a piece that champions representation, challenges outdated norms and reminds us that the industry has plenty of room for everyone.
In addition to the advertorial, I wrote a full-page ad spotlighting Katie Kath’s talent for bringing old homes back to life with intention, heart and a sharp eye for how people actually live today.
The ad celebrated her flair for blending historic charm with modern functionality, while positioning her as a leader in a field where women are still underrepresented.
It was a chance to not only showcase thoughtful design but also highlight the impact women like Katie are making in construction – one inspired, beautifully livable space at a time.
